Goalkeeper Luisa Marzotto made her youth international debut, but was more of a spectator in the one-sided affair which saw Australia up 8-0 at half time.

Catherine Cannuli top scored after bagging her second international four-goal haul, having first scored that many on debut against the senior Singapore team last August. Captain Kate McShea and Elissia Canham also each scored twice, from a total of nine Australian scorers.

In yesterday's Group A matches New Zealand won 2-0 win against American Samoa. They found it difficult to break open the defensive entrenchment of their opponent.

Samoa came from behind to win 2-1 against Fiji.
